Condolence Visit and Site Inspection Following Tema-Mpakadan Incident

A delegation led by Madam Sahadatu Alhassan, Head of Corporate Affairs, visited both the scene of last week’s tragic accident along the Tema-Mpakadan railway line and the family of the late Enoch Ehun, the young man who sadly lost his life. Enoch leaves behind a grieving wife and two children.

Joining the delegation were Hon. Samuel Tetteh Kwashie Morton (MCE, Kpone-Katamanso), Hon. Tetteh Isaac Newton (Assembly Member, Nmlitsakpo Electoral Area), and two officials from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI). The team conducted a thorough inspection of the accident site and later met with the bereaved family to offer heartfelt condolences and support.

As a gesture of solidarity, drinks and a token in an undisclosed amount were presented to the family. During the visit:

Hon. Morton expressed the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to supporting the family during this difficult time and pledged to work closely with stakeholders to prevent such incidents in the future.
Madam Sahadatu Alhassan assured the family of the organization’s dedication to safety and its intention to intensify public education on the risks associated with railway operations, especially in communities along the line.
The delegation emphasized that the introduction of the train service was driven by good intentions—to enhance connectivity and economic growth—and deeply regretted the unfortunate incident.

The visit reflected a shared commitment to compassion, accountability, and the collective responsibility to ensure safer communities.

May the soul of Enoch Ehun rest in perfect peace.
