Ghana Railway Development Authority Conducts Public Education Following Tema–Mpakadan Incident
The Corporate Affairs Unit of the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) has embarked on a public education and sensitization campaign in the Bediako area following the recent incident along the Tema–Mpakadan railway corridor.
This outreach initiative is part of GRDA’s commitment to ensuring public safety and promoting responsible engagement with railway infrastructure. The campaign focused on educating residents about railway safety protocols, the importance of respecting railway boundaries, and the dangers of unauthorized access to rail tracks.
Speaking during the exercise, officials from the Corporate Affairs Unit emphasized the need for continuous collaboration between the Authority and local communities to prevent future occurrences. Pamphlets, safety guides, and interactive sessions were used to engage residents, especially youth and transport operators.
The GRDA reiterates its dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient railway system and urges all stakeholders to remain vigilant and cooperative as the Tema–Mpakadan line continues to expand its operations.
